BBBach's Bach Home Page

Johann Sebastion Bach

As I sit here, headphones on, and plugged into the CD player, listening to Miss Saigon, I reflect on what Johann Sebastion Bach, thanks to the Internet, has come to mean to me. As an avid net user, several months ago, I was surfing Tucows Web Site. I was actually looking for programs that would let me view VRML worlds, and instead, ended up with a copy of mIRC. For those of you who do not yet have it, I greatly recommend getting mIRC, and get ready for your newest addiction!!!

Not many things have changed my life so rapidly, as the Internet Relay Chat. In this new universe, you are excepted for who you are, and what you have to contribute; not what you look like, your manners at the dinner table, what job you have, or which alien you like to eat out with most. It quickly became a severe addiction of mine, and I have become an op (operator)on #newbies on DALnet, and the efNet networks. For more information about the channel, I recommend going to the #newbies Home Page. Now, I am sure that those of you who are here, looking to find out more about J.S. Bach, the formost Baroque composer, I am sure you are wondering what IRC has to do with Bach. No, don't go pushing that button yet, give me a chance!

You see, my nickname on IRC is BBBach. Everyone there calls me BBB, or Bach. It stands for BB <---- my initials(Brent Bain), and Bach <-------- D'oh, my favorite composer! I am repetively asked what my nickname stands for, and find it very strange when I run into someone who has not heard of the great one, Bach. This is for all of you who do not know, and for those of you who just want to learn more about one of the leading musicians of our world.

There has been tons of stuff written about Bach. There are also some other GREAT Bach Home Pages, yet I must put my own two cents on the net, sooo . . . Bach deserves every bit of credit he can get! He was not a well liked person. When he died, the Leipzig town council formally recorded it's relief that he wasn't around to pester them any more. And yet, all his problems, all of his everday hastles seem to vanish in his music. What we have is a distillation of elegance and logic, a timeless flow of sounds and colors, underlaid by a steady reassuring heartbeat and the dancing feet of his children. Bach is a musician's musician, and this is why I bring you BBBach's Bach Home Page.

There are some people who I wish to thank at this time. Missy, well, you were the first one to look at this dang page (and you didn't even see this part!). I wish to thank you for being you. You have become a great friend, and donut worry, I won't tell anyone how sweet you really are...*hugs*. Greti, without you, I would probably have given up my music in those difficult teenager years. Thanks for being such a great teacher, and I only wish I could begin to repay you for all that you have done for me. Mom, well, you don't approve of all the time I'm spending on the 'puter, but hey, look what I can do! Drysy, you are always around when I need a online mother figure, and hey, you even get me into bars, what a great friend!! TheDragon, well everything is your fault...isn't it always? Thanks for Drags, TD, it let me get to know some great people. Rick, rnt, whatever you want to be called, if Missy wouldn't beat me up for it, I'd call you dad, but don't let her here me say that! And lastly, Kristine...my sis. Once again, I find myself wanting to do something great for someone, and not knowing in the slightest how to go about doing it. I hope this helps. Ohhh...one more...thanks to all of you, who actually have some interest in Bach, he is a great composer, and hell, I've always looked up to him!!!

"Brilliant soloist, consummate technician, creative sound colourist,
logician of the first order, overwhelmingly productive composer,
father of two dozen, teacher to thousands,"
